Artist Name "Succulent"

My idea during this art-making process was to create a flower out of magazines and have it be combo by having the pot be drawn. I got this idea online and I wanted to replicate it but switch it up by using black and white paper as the background instead of colorful paper. 

I first started by drawing the pot in which I wanted my flower to sit. Then I cut out pieces of newspaper and cut them to fit around the pot. Then I modge podged them down and started cutting out colorful pieces of magazine paper. Finally, I glued all of the flower pieces down and adjusted them to make a more succulent look. 

This artwork shows a version of mixed media and I want the audience to think about the creation of it and how it's made out of magazines.    

The difficult part for me was shaping the petals to be more flower-like. In the end, they started to stand up more straight so it ended up looking like a succulent more than a flower but I still like it a lot. 

The art style of abstract because it uses magazines and materials to look like a flower. I like the end product and how all the colors turned out. I also like the contrast between the black and white and the colors.
