First explain what your idea is. How did you get the idea and how did it evolve? Inspirations from life experiences? Another Artwork?
I started this project by sketching a graph so that I could better understand where to draw what. I then outlined the body of the cat and started to shade in areas. Eventually I started on the wood table part and shaded to try and make it look more realistic. I then colored in the darker fur areas. I still have to erase the graph lines and finish better shading.
What does the artwork mean? What do you want your audience to think about? Is there any symbolic imagery in the work?
This artwork is a picture that I took of my cat Rosie. I wanted to draw this because I saw it in my camera roll and thought that it was cute and that it showed my love for her. I want my audicence to see that this cat is very loving and sweet.
What was most difficult for you? How did you overcome the struggles? What would you change if you started over?
One thing I stuggled on was the eyes. I tried to match my cats green eyes that have a little bit of brown but they got kind of smuged but I think they turned out okay in the end. I also struggled on the table part of the drawing because I tried to blend it and it became purple, but with more blending I think it will look good.
What style of art is this? (Realistic, Abstract, Surreal, Non-Objective?). What makes it unique to your own personal style? What do you love about it?
This style of art is realistic. This drawing is unique to my style because I like to draw things I have seen and things that are real and personal to me. I love this drawing because it is my cat Rosie and I think I did mostly a good job on drawing her based off of a picture.
