9x12, Alcohol Markers and Magazines, 2021
My idea for this was to draw somewhere that looked happy and yet somehow almost fake. At first I did not plan on adding my cut outs of colors but I eventually added them. I got the idea for this from different things I think about in my life. I sketched my mushrooms and hills and then colored them in with different colored markers. Then I cut out different colors from magazines and glued them to the paper. This piece shows how I see an out of this world economy and world. I want my audience to think how this would look in real life. The most difficult part was trying to decide what colors to color certain parts. I overcame these problems by testing different colors. If I started over I would lighten the color of the sky. This style of art is surreal. The colors and blending of clouds are what I love the most.
