My idea was to paint mountains with a blue and purple sunset and I also wanted to incorporate snow and stars. I honestly didn’t have much inspiration but I really like the look of mountains. In total, this painting took me about three weeks to complete. On my 16 by 20 canvas I started by painting my sunset as my background. After My background was finished I started painting my mountains using smaller brushes. One thing that really helped my painting come together was blending colors with a little bit of water. When someone looks at my painting I want them to think of a nice and relaxing mountaintop view. I also want them to think about their image of a purple and blue sunset. The most difficult part of the painting was the blending and making the colors come together. Mrs.Dunlevy taught me how to use water to blend colors and this really helped me. I loved the way my painting turned out but if I could start over I would make the mountains thicker. In this painting, I used a realistic style and I love the realistic sunset that I created. My painting is unique to my own painting style because I didn’t quite do just a certain type of painting.
My painting is a painting of many different patterns sectioned off. So originally my idea was to create happy and bright-looking triangles. I got the idea from a summer Pinterest account and then I came up with different patterns to use. I started this painting by taping off the triangular sections, once that was done I started painting backgrounds for every part. When all of the backgrounds were dry I started developing different patterns. After a couple of weeks, all of the designs were done and then I peeled the tape and painted the taped-off part white. Throughout this process, I used acrylic paint, water, and tape on my project. When you look at this painting I want you to see a bright and happy reminder of summer or a good memory. The most challenging part of this project was coming up with enough ideas for all of the sections at times I almost had a painter’s block. I overcame my block by looking at images of patterns on Pinterest. If I could start this painting all over again I would come up with more solid ideas before I start painting so it was easier to execute. I would say that this style of art falls under the category of abstract, and I believe that it is different than anybody else’s style because my painting is definitely a more novice level. I love my cheetah print triangle the best.
I got my inspiration from a picture from a photo that I really liked, so I decided I wanted to zoom in on the people and just paint the people. So I started by painting the background a light cream color. Once that was completed I started painting the dresses and then the bodies of the girls. After all of that, I started doing some outlining of the people which made it look way better. One thing that helped me was watering down the black paint to make it lighter and help it spread easier. This artwork doesn’t have a lot of meaning behind it but I do think that it represents friendship. When people look at my painting I want them to think about their own friends they have in their life. I think that it symbolizes friendship. The most difficult part of this painting for me was the outlining of the bodies was the most difficult for me. I mixed my paint with water and I used a very fine brush to make the thin lines. If I started this over I would have painted a detailed background. I think that this style of art was a mix between abstract and realistic because the people aren’t disformed or weirdly chapped but they are actually what the people exactly look like. I think that the more block-looking people are special to my style. I love the girl with the blonde hair in this painting because I feel that she looks the most defined.
My idea was to paint an abstract kind of giraffe but I wanted the whole painting to be different shades of green. It started out as just one giraffe but then I ended up painting multiple giraffes. I started out by painting my background a dark green almost black color. Once that was finished I started with the giraffe in the middle and worked on the rest going out to the sides. My goal was to make all of the giraffes look diffrent not only in color but also in pattern as well. When people see this painting I want them to just feel happy and I don’t want them to think about any kind of symbolism or deeper meaning because there isn’t one. The most difficult part of this for me was making the figure recognizable enough because I struggled to paint the giraffes. If I started over I would just paint one big detailed giraffe. I think that this painting is definitely abstract but no so abstract that you can tell what it is. Lastly I love the giraffe where you can only see its neck.
