Meet your Region 6 director - Shanon Griffin
Shanon Griffin was born and raised in Smyth County, Virginia. She currently resides in Botetourt County. She has been a registered nurse for 23 years. She began her nursing career working in Cardiac Care. She followed this career by working in Geriatrics and Pediatrics before being offered her teaching position. She started her teaching career at Botetourt Technical Education Center in 2016, where she teaches Nurse Aide 1 & 2 through a dual enrollment program with Mountain Gateway Community College. She received her nursing degree from the Virginia Appalachia Tri-college Nursing Program in Abingdon, VA. She has been married for 22 years to her husband, Ritchie. They have three children, Emerald, Lauren, and Trey. Shanon and Ritchie run a small farm where they raise chickens and pigs and enjoy gardening.
