Civil Rights Movement: Tasks and Topics
You will choose a topic from below. (Teacher approval required.)
Research the topic.
Write an essay which answers the following question:
- Did this event/person/group have a positive or negative effect on the Civil Rights movement?
Your essay should take a side (positive or negative) and provide supporting information from your research.

Your completed final draft should meet the following criteria:
- Minimum of five paragraphs
- Typed in MLA style
- Uses at least one print source, cited correctly
- Uses at least two web sources, cited correctly
- Uses at least two database sources, cited correctly
- Includes at least five in-text/parenthetical citations (one per source)
- Includes a works cited page NO WORKS CITED = NO GRADE
