I have always loved books and enjoyed going to the library as far back as I can remember. The first book I checked out from Curtis Elementary was Fox in Socks by Dr. Seuss. When I was 16 years old, I started working in the Chester Library as a library page. My love of the library has grown from there. I have worked as an elementary, middle, and high school librarian. I love being the librarian at Thomas Dale HS! The library is a great place to go on a new adventure in a book as well as a place to utilize all the current technology, learn tools for research, and create fun projects. Hope to see you all here @ your library!

I was born and raised in East TN. I moved to Chesterfield with my husband @25 years ago. I received my Master's in Library Science from Catholic University in DC in 1998. I have been the librarian with CCPS for 10 years. Prior to this I was the librarian for Fortis College, and also worked in legal research. I am married and have 3 kids. I have a chihuahua named Dewey (After the famous Melvil Dewey of the Dewey Decimal System). I split time between Chesterfield and Smith Mountain Lake where we also have a house. I enjoy sewing, kayaking, and wheelchair tennis.

Stop by the TDHS library and say Hi. I think I can find a book for you to read or help you with a research project.

I have always been bookish. I have a picture of me at around 18-months-old sitting in the middle of a pile of picture books that I had (helpfully) pulled off the shelves. According to my mom, I would work my way through all of them before lunch. Reading and writing were the only school-ish thing I was any good at so it makes sense that I would end up as a librarian. I have worked with kids of all ages but teenagers are, by far, my favorite people. I am a fan of reading all kind of things but my favorite, go-to books are fantasy fiction. I love working at TDHS West and look forward to a great year!

Hello, my name is Bianca Lapierre, and I’m French Canadian. I have a 14 year experience working in a high school with students. What I really love about my job is that I get to help students and be able to communicate with them. I personally love to read books that will help me grow as a person. I also really enjoy reading biography books because they helps me understand how different people express their emotions and how they deal with challenges in their lives. I am also a mother of two wonderful teenagers, my oldest is a junior and my youngest is a freshman. En espérant vous voir à la bibliothèque (Hope to see you at the library!)
