About Ms. Oden

Hello! My name is Allyson Oden and I am, first and foremost, thrilled to be entering my fifth year as the full-time music teacher at Elizabeth Scott Elementary School.

On the left is a picture at my Alma Mater, Longwood University. I play the horn as my primary instrument, but I also play the trumpet, the piano, and the guitar.

I used to think music was my life, but seven years ago, when I got my first teaching job in Danville, Virginia, I realized that my passion was my students. My dream has evolved to be not just a music teacher, but someone who lives in service of my students to give them the exposure to music that they deserve.

Parents, please come visit Mrs. Hampton (our extraordinary Wednesday music itinerant) and me in our room at Scott Elementary to see how much fun we can have while learning!
