Orienteering is a competitive racing sport that all JRHS NJROTC Cadets have the ability to participate in. Consisting of 3 simple tools, students are expected to navigate any terrain to complete a timed course of points quicker than their peers. In orienteering, students will gain a mix of cardiovascular athletic abilities, quick logical thinking, and navigation skills that will be able to serve them in real world applications.

The Orienteering Team is an Non-Cut team of NJROTC Cadets only. We take on all cadets willing no matter the previous knowledge and build them up to be successful Orienteers. During competitions, we will be able to take a varying amount of cadets based on the competitions allowed entry. We take into account 2 factors when selecting a competition team, Skill and Seniority. Ultimately however we aim to allow every cadet the ability to participate in at least 1 competition throughout the school year.

If you are interested in Orienteering, thats Amazing! Currently, the team is not active as we are outside of our competition season, you will be able to attend team practices starting in Fall of the 2025-2026 school year! In order to show interest, you will complete an interest form before hand, and then attend the practices that take place once a week.
