We shall add videos and photographs once we begin learning about multiplication and division.

There is no expectation that children move onto the abstract with multiplication. The 'x' symbol can slowly be introduced in relation to doubling.

Double 2 = 4

2 lots of 2 is the same as 4

2+2 = 4

Double 5 = 10

2 lots of 5 is the same as 10

5 + 5 = 10

Solve one-step problems involving multiplication and division, by calculating the answer using concrete objects, pictorial representations and arrays with the support of the teacher.
