Dear All,
As you will know, the Department for Education plans to publish a Schools White Paper focused on special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
I want to ensure that SEND parents, carers, experts, and young people have an opportunity to share their experiences and concerns, and feed into these reforms. I have therefore created a SEND survey, to hear from the people who know the system best. The results of the survey will be passed to the Department of Education.
I would be grateful if you could share this survey among other SEND families or experts in our constituency, so we can hear from as many people as possible. In particular, I would appreciate if you could share this survey among SEND families that attend your school, your SEND mailing list, and SEND teachers and staff.
To access the survey, please see here.
I would also like to make you aware that the Minister for School Standards, Georgia Gould is hosting nine face-to-face events, run in partnership with the Council for Disabled Children, and five online events. This will provide an opportunity for parents, families, and the sector to share their views.
There aren’t currently any face-to-face events local to Finchley and Golders Green, but it is possible to get involved in the online events here.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this. Additionally, if any families would like support, please encourage them to get in touch with me at sarah.sackman.mp@parliament.uk.
With best wishes.
