" I’m Mr.Nolan and I teach Drama at CCF. I studied Theatre and Performance at Leeds Beckett University and continued my studies in West Yorkshire at Leeds Trinity University for my PGCE.
From a young age I’ve always loved performing and being a part of plays/musicals and I hope to give the pupils at CCF that same opportunity.
My favourite lesson to teach is all about past drama practitioners and the pioneers of the theatre world alongside a devising lesson. Here, I give the pupils a stimulus and they create their own performance. It’s a great way to let their creativity flow and allows them to come together as a group."

My Zone Update - January: My Relationships Unit
From January, students will begin a new MyZone unit called My Relationships, for those who don't know, MyZone is CCF's PSHE (personal, social, health education) curriculum.
Why do we teach Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)?
Relationships and Sex Education is a statutory requirement for all secondary schools in England. Government guidance requires schools to teach RSE in a way that is:
Age-appropriate
Inclusive
Factually accurate
Safeguarding-led
Beyond statutory expectations, RSE plays a vital role in helping young people:
Build healthy, respectful relationships
Understand boundaries, consent and personal safety
Recognise and respond to unhealthy or abusive behaviour
Develop self-respect, empathy and confidence
Navigate relationships, identity and online influences safely
All content is carefully planned, and aligned with national guidance to ensure students are supported, informed and protected.
What will students learn in the My Relationships unit?
Across the half term, lessons will focus on key areas including:
Different types of relationships and family structures
Healthy vs unhealthy relationships and early warning signs
Personal boundaries, pressure and consent
Respect, equality and identity within relationships
Legal rights and responsibilities related to consent
Relationship breakdown, abuse awareness and how to seek support
Age-appropriate sexual health and informed decision-making
The impact of media and online spaces on relationships
The focus throughout is on safety, respect, responsibility and wellbeing.
My Future Project – Coming Home This Week
Next week, students will receive a My Future Project worksheet.
This will be:
Started in lessons
Completed over the Christmas holidays
Not a compulsory marked homework but a brilliant opportunity for students to reflect on how they are supporting their futures.
The project is designed to:
Give students direction and inspiration
Help them reflect on strengths and areas for growth
Set meaningful personal and academic goals
Develop skills, values and self-awareness
Support success both in school and in the wider world
We encourage families to talk with students about their ideas and reflections where possible.
Keeping Parents Informed
Going forward:
Weekly ITL updates will include information about the following week’s PSHE lessons and resources
At the end of each half term, we will share an overview of the next upcoming unit, so families know what is coming next
We are committed to open communication and partnership with parents as we support students’ wellbeing, relationships and future pathways.
If you have any questions about MyZone, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Miss Sugden (Head of MyZone) via the school email address: info@ccfplus.com

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Ms Wang, our Mandarin Assistant, joined CCF in November and is still settling into school life at CCF. As a result, MEP lessons with her have not begun as originally planned, and we have had to make some adjustments to the MEP timetable. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

We will introduce the remaining MEP morning classes with Ms Wang gradually. Once these are ready to begin, we will inform parents and students via ITL and Google Classroom.

Year 7 MEP: Wednesday (Week 1 only) — Room 411
Year 8 MEP: Friday
8Y Week 1: Room 412
8Y Week 2: Room 411

Reminder: Year 9 Senior Booster Consent Link & Information
Dear Parent/Guardian,
Your Year 9 child is now due for their routine childhood vaccinations. These vaccinations form part of the national immunisation schedule and are recorded in your child’s Personal Child Health Record (Red book, if born in the UK)
E-Consent Click here to complete https://ncl.schoolvaccination.uk/dtp/2025/Barnet
These vaccinations will be taking place on January 23rd 2026.
In Year 9, two vaccines are offered:
Diptheria, Tetanus, and Polio (DTP) booster
Meningitis ACWY (MenACWY) vaccination
Your child will have received four doses of the DTP as a baby at 8, 12, and 16 weeks old. The Year 9 booster is the fifth and final dose, providing protection throughout adulthood. This vaccine protects against serious diseases that can cause breathing difficulties, nerve damage, muscle stiffness, and paralysis.
The MenACWY vaccine protects against four strains of the meningococcal bacteria which can lead to meningitis and septicaemia (blood poisoning). Meningitis causes dangerous swelling of the lining of the brain and spinal cord and can result in life-changing complications such as brain damage, amputations, and memory loss. Both meningitis and septicaemia are life-threatening but can be prevented through vaccination.
An information leaflet and the e-consent link are attached. Please complete the e-consent form to tell us whether you do or do not want your child to receive these vaccines. A form must be completed for both “yes” and “no” responses. If we do not receive a completed form, a member of the immunisation team will contact you by phone to complete it verbally.
E-Consent Click here to complete https://ncl.schoolvaccination.uk/dtp/2025/Barnet
If you have any questions, please contact the immunisations team at barnet@v-uk.co.uk”
Please note, the link in the cover letter, says it is for 2024, but it will still allow parents to complete a form for this round of vaccinations for the 2025-26 year.
We do not need a class list as we have your class list for Year 9 students from the Flu programme. If you have not yet sent your class list, please can you do this ASAP. Government guidance states that schools have a lawful basis to share parent contact details with the SAIS team. Further guidance can be found here -> https://www.gov.uk/guidance/data-protection-in-schools/sharing-personal-data
And finally, if you have not yet confirmed your dates for the Year 9 vaccinations, please can you do also do this ASAP.
Thank you.
Kind Regards,
Tom French | Data Administrator
