Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Dear families,
It has been lovely to see festive cheer with lots of Christmas jumpers on display today for non-uniform day. Please can I remind parents to support our two school charities Children with Cancer UK and Save the Children for Christmas Jumper day, by donating £2 on ParentPay. Next Friday 19th December 2025 is the last day of the autumn term and pupils will be dismissed at 12.30pm. Lunch will be available to purchase and eat in the canteen should pupils wish to do so before they leave.
Next week may be the final week of term but there are still a number of activities taking place at CCF. Year 11 are now well into their mock examinations and pupils have been impressive with their conduct and approach to these important exams. Yesterday afternoon we held a celebratory event for Year 12 pupils to reflect on their successes last year and pupils received their GCSE certificates and a number of pupils received prestigious awards. It was a lovely afternoon and I would like to thank Mr Hodges, Deputy Headteacher, for organising the event and the parents and pupils who attended. Next week sees the Drama showcase on Monday 15 December at 3.30pm and our Christmas concert on Friday 19 December where pupils will perform for pupils from Brooklands Junior School and perform during breaktime for CCF pupils and staff.
Families will be aware that Ofsted are now inspecting schools under a new framework and Ofsted has produced a short video to explain the grading system and report card to parents (click here). Neil Marlow, Chief Executive and Director of Education and Learning for Barnet, has asked me to share his letter (click here) which also provides information on the new inspection framework. As parents and carers will be aware, Christ’s College Finchley was last inspected in February 2025 where the inspectors found that the school may have improved significantly since it was graded as ‘Good’ in March 2020 and therefore the school is likely to receive an inspection before April 2027 under this new framework. Please email info@ccfplus.com if you have any questions regarding this and I would like to remind parents and carers that you do not have to wait until we are notified of an inspection to give your view to Ofsted’s Parent View which has been updated to follow the new framework. Click here to complete the short survey.
Finally, I would like to wish you all a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Dr Ruth Hill
Headteacher
