Welcome to the CCCOE Wellness in Schools Resource Page. This is a place where you can find helpful information, support, and guidance for your mental well-being. We know that life can be challenging and stressful at times, and that it can affect your mood, thoughts, and emotions. That's why we want you to know that you are not alone, and that there are people who care about you and want to help you. 

We encourage you to explore this page and find the resources that suit your needs. You can learn more about different mental health topics. You can also find links to online counseling services, hotlines, apps, and websites that can offer you awareness, education, guidance and support.

If someone you know is struggling emotionally or having a hard time, you can be the difference in getting them the help they need. It's important to take care of yourself when you are supporting someone through a difficult time, as this may stir up difficult emotions. If it does, please reach out for yourself. 


Contra Costa Crisis Center

The Contra Costa Crisis Center has a team of counselors who can help students and parents better understand and deal with trauma response and the grief process. They dedicate their services to keep people alive and safe, help them through crisis, and provide or connect them with culturally relevant resources in the community. 

April Highlights 

Brightlife Kids

BrightLife Kids is for any family living in California with kids 0-12 years old. Parents and caregivers can turn to BrightLife kids for peer support, and expert advice on how to handle behavioral challenges while teaching resilience, problem-solving, and communication. Kids benefit from resources and coaching that teach them how to manage worries, how to express big feelings like sadness, anger or frustration in healthy ways, and how to navigate complicated or confusing social situations. 

The Soluna App is an innovative virtual behavioral health program, developed through a collaboration between the California Department of Health Care Services and Kooth. The Soluna App will provide youth and young adults (ages 13-25) with immediate access to a comprehensive mental health toolkit, community support, resources, digital journaling, and personal coaching - all at no cost to the user, their parents, or their school. The Soluna App is available to download on all IOS and Android devices.

Education is vital for students to understand, empathize, and act when they or their friend is experiencing mental distress. Erika's Lighthouse educate about mental health, depression, and suicide. Be Well Line 

BeWell Line is dedicated to making mental health care, life guidance, and community-based counseling available to everyone across California, free of charge. BeWell Line's unique approach to care combines practical advice with peer companionship. BeWell Line's mission is to provide a wide range of resources that support all people to feel better about their mental health. 

Care Solace

Care Solace is the mental health care coordination service of choice for K-12 districts, higher education institutions, municipalities, and employers.  Care Solace helps school districts provide wraparound support for every student, staff member, and family member in need. 


HearYou.Org

HearYou.org offers secure video counseling at nearly half the cost of a typical counseling session.

Bring Change 2 Mind is a nonprofit organization dedicated to encouraging dialogue about mental health, and to raising awareness, understanding, and empathy. 

CalHope Schools

The CalHOPE Schools Initative links three powerful resources togetehr at one easy access point for CA educators. A Trusted Space: Redirecting Grief to Growth, Angst: Building Resilience, and adds Stories of Hope: Shorts.

Calm

The Calm app has handpicked some of their favorite meditations, sleep stories, movement excercises, journals, and music. All of these resources can be used to take care of our emotional health and wellness. 

Contra Costa Behavioral Health Services 

Contra Costa Mental Health Services strives to create an effective, high quality integrated system to meet the needs of all residents of Contra Costa County. The Mental Health Services provides an array of opportunities for partners to work together in the spirit of hope toward recovery. 

Each Mind Matters

As part of California's ongoing mental health movement, the Take Action for Mental Health campaign is designed to help you check in, learn more, and get support for mental health.

The Jed Foundation 

The Jed Foundation's Mental Health Resource Center provides essential information about common emotional health issues and shows teens and young adults how they can support one another, overcome challenges, and make a successful transition to adulthood. 

Mind Out Loud

Mind Out Loud is a youth-led mental health movement which includes free monthly workshops, free student rep program, and a free online annual event. Mind Out Loud focuses on personal wellness, suicide prevention, support for marginalized communities, and mental health awareness and advocacy. 

Mental Health Literacy

Mental Health Literacy takes the best available scientific evidence in mental health and makes it easy to understand and accessible for everyone. They are committed to create and deliver the highest quality mental health literacy information, research, education and resources.

Mental Health Technology

Mental Health Technology Transfer Career Center Network's purpose is to disseminate and implement evidence-based practices for mental disorders in the field. This network supports resource development and dissemination, training and technical assistance, and workforce development for the mental health field. 

NAMI California

A grassroots organizaton that provides support, advocacy, and education for people with mental illness. Among the services provided through local and regional affiliates are peer education and support groups.


NAMI Youth & Teens

Since mental health conditions typically begin during childhood, adolescence, or young adulthood, NAMI have compiled essential resources to help  young people get the mental health support they need. 


NAMI OnCampus (CA)

NAMI On Campus are student-led clubs that tackle mental health issues at high school and on college campuses by raising mental health awareness, supporting students, and advocating for more support. 


Safe & Resilient Schools and Workplaces 

The Center of Resiliency, Hope, and Wellness promotes trauma-informed school systems that provide prevention and early intervention strategies. 

Safe Spaces: Trauma Informed Training

Safe Spaces is a free, online training designed to help early care providers, TK-12 educators, and other school personnel recognize and respond to trauma and stress in children. 

The Rainbow Center (Local)

Rainbow Center builds community, equity, and well-bring among Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning, and Intersex (LGBTQIA+) people and our allies. 

The Trevor Project (National)

The Trevor Project's mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ young people. The Trevor Project has trained counselors to understand the challenges LGBTQ young people face. They will listen without judgement.

Wellness Education Lab

Wellness Education Lab is offered by Wellness Together School Mental Health. Wellness Together School Mental Health, a national 501 (c)(3) organization, delivers effective mental health services online so that you can provide a safe and more supportive environment for students.
