INFORMATION UPDATES

Due to the uncertain nature of outdoor performances, there are occasions where immediate communication is necessary. PLEASE ensure that each student has a parent/guardian actively monitoring Parent Square, ESPECIALLY on event evenings. Parent Square will be utilized to provide you with up to the minute notifications of inclement weather or cancellations. 

GAME SCHEDULE

5:30 PM- Report Time

• Students should arrive to LHS stadium by 5:30pm and be unpacked/set up in the bleachers and ready to warm up together.

• Students need be in the established Pep Band Uniform and have with them their instrument and instrument accessories, a folding music stand, their music, and a water bottle.

5:50 PM- Pre-Game

• Students will perform the National Anthem PROMPTLY at 5:50pm

• Again, pleasure ensure students are seated and ready to warm up/play for 5:30pm

6:00 PM- 5th Quarter and Game Time

• Quarters are 8:00 minutes each

• Halftime is 10-12:00 minutes

  • Students may take a brief bathroom break after the cheerleaders have completed their halftime performances.

  • Students need to be back in the bleachers by 3rd quarter.

  • This is not a designated food break.

7:30/8:00pm- End of Game

• As in all sports, the end of the game is dependet on pace of play.

• Please ensure you are activelyn monitoring Parent Square notifications on event nights- game updates will be shared so you may pick up your RedHawk on time.

PANTHER STADIUM

All SIMS home football games will take place at Panther Stadium at the Lakeside Schools Complex. Intersection of Blue Ridge Dr and Fairfield Way in Evans, GA.

CONDUCT DURING PERFORMANCES

Performance etiquette is a performance standard in band and students do receive grades that reflect their professionalism during performance events. Band students are an active part of the game.  Students are expected to be ready to play at various times of the game with very little warning / preparation: the game happens quickly and students should be engaged in cheering with the cheerleaders and paying attention to the game.  For this reason, cell phones are not allowed in the stands and non-band members may not visit or sit with the band.  Water is allowed in the stands, but no food or sodas.

THE STALLINGS ISLAND BAND UNIFORM

Presenting a single, uniform appearance is important so that our dress doesn’t distract from the music we are playing. 

Students will wear the current year's SIMS band shirt (this will be provided before the first game to all students who have paid the participation fee for the current school year).  In most cases, shorts and sneakers are appropriate. Shorts must abide by all dress code policies as laid out in the Columbia County Board of Education- Student Handbook.
