All-State Honor Band is a Georgia Music Educators Association sponsored event. It is a state-wide competition amongst liked-age band students in which over 1,000 middle school students audition every year. Of those students, approximately 160-200 are selected to participate. 

Those selected will participate in a 2 ½ day clinic with a guest conductor and will showcase their work on a Saturday afternoon concert. Students rehearse Thursday evening, Friday (all day), and Saturday morning in Athens, GA.

Official registration is required for participation in this event. This event is open to our SIMS 7th and 8th grade students. At least 1 full year of study is required for participation in the audition process. There is a registration form, and registration fee which can be found available below starting mid-August. 

The audition process for the All-State event is much more rigorous than the District Honor Band Event. Private lesson study is highly encouraged.

Preliminary Audition- Saturday, December 6th, 2025

Stallings Island Middle School (Martinez, GA)

Final Audition- Saturday, January 10, 2026

Union Grove Middle School (McDonough, GA)

To register to audition for the 2026 All-State Honor Band AUDITIONS, please complete and return the bottom portion of the registration form provided in class.

A $25 registration fee must accompany your registration form.

This payment can only be made via cash or check (NOT available on RevTrak)

Please note that this registration form and fee are IN ADDITION TO/SEPARATE from the District Ten Honor Band registration/fee.

If students are auditioning for BOTH the DISTRICT and ALL-STATE Honor Bands, there should be two separate registrations submitted and a total of $35 in accompanying fees.
