CHAPTER CLOSED.
And my journal (yapping session) ends here ~
I believe some of my goals were accomplished, like gaining practical knowledge on planting, watering, and proper care. But funny enough, my last expectation — learning how to adapt to the heat — didn’t really happen. Why? Well, a storm decided to make a surprise appearance! So, instead of battling the sun na nakakapaso ng balat, I found myself dealing with too much water instead 🥲
This project taught me a lot about patience and flexibility in gardening. I learned how to properly care for my plants, but I also realized that nature always has its own plans (It is what it is). Whether it’s adapting to unexpected weather changes or adjusting the methods we used, I gained a deep appreciation for how much attention and care even a small plant like pechay requires since even one small mistake can cost everything. It reminded me that success in gardening and in life doesn't always go as expected, but you just have to roll with it.
I also learned the importance of our farmers through this project. After experiencing how hard it was to grow even just a small crop like pechay, I can’t imagine the effort and dedication they put in daily. The hard work I put in is nothing compared to what they go through; they work a million times harder to provide food for all of us. It made me appreciate their dedication and resilience even more.
Moreover, although this was a fail (medj, well, to our group at least) I am thankful for the experience!!!!! I’m still super thankful for the experience! It may not have turned out exactly how we planned or wanted, but we learned so much along the way. Plus, it was a fun, chaotic adventure that we’ll definitely remember hehehehe. 💚
