**THIS COURSE MAY BE UPDATED PRIOR TO ITS JANUARY START DATE**
This course focuses on the fundamentals of the theory and development of video games. Students will utilize math, science and technology skills to design, code, test and debug video games using game making software. The course moves from step-by-step tutorials to the creation of a student-derived video game.
Experience in computer programming is not required but is useful.
Software used in this course is Clickteam Fusion 2.5, which is installed on the computers in the school's computer lab. A free version of the software can be downloaded by clicking here: Free version. NOTE: The software cannot be installed on Chromebooks, but rather a desktop or laptop at home.
This class is a semester long course and is scheduled for semester 2.
The course syllabus will be provided prior to the start of the course in January 2021.
During the 2020-2021 school year, a weekly agenda will be provided to students and families so they can anticipate what lessons and assignments are upcoming. Due to the fluid nature of teaching, as well as the current learning environment, this agenda may change as the week evolves. Any changes will be reflected on the agenda, as well as due dates in Google Classroom.
