**THIS COURSE MAY BE UPDATED PRIOR TO ITS JANUARY START DATE**
This course continues teaching students about the development of video games. Students will utilize math, science and technology skills to design, code, test and debug video games using advanced game making software. Students will be following some tutorials to gain an understanding of the software, and will ultimately create their own video game.
This course meets at the same time as Video Game Design. As such, students will be expected to work on assignments independently at times. Experience in computer programming is not required but is highly recommended.
Software used in this course is Unreal Game Engine, which is installed on the computers in the school's computer lab. The robust software is free, and can be downloaded here: Unreal Engine. NOTE: The software cannot be installed on Chromebooks, but rather a desktop or laptop at home.
This class is a semester long course and is scheduled for semester 2.
The course syllabus will be provided prior to the start of the course in January 2021.
During the 2020-2021 school year, a weekly agenda will be provided to students and families so they can anticipate what lessons and assignments are upcoming. Due to the fluid nature of teaching, as well as the current learning environment, this agenda may change as the week evolves. Any changes will be reflected on the agenda, as well as due dates in Google Classroom.
The weekly agenda will be posted once the course begins in January 2021.
