Closing Requirements

• There is no longer a requirement to have a CO inspection in Barnegat for resale properties.

• Letter of No Interest.  Must be requested a minimum of two weeks in advance of closing.  There is a $1000.00 fee payable at the time requested.  

• Smoke/Carbon Monoxide/Fire Extinguisher Certification.  A Certification in Lieu of Inspection is required.  It must be notarized and accompany the request for the Letter of No Interest.

NJ P.L. 2022, c. 92 which is now in effect requires the owner of one or more rental units, to maintain liability insurance for negligent acts and omissions in an amount of no less than $500,000 for combined property damage and bodily injury to or death of one or more persons in any one accident or occurrence. Must be registered annually with the municipality.
