Band Formation begins at 7:50 each morning. As a regiment with a special skill set, we added that extra 5 minutes to our homeroom period last year because we needed the time for spot drilling, announcements, and other important JROTC-related activities. This time makes up for the time we lose on drill days when we are hard at work honing our marching and playing skills.
Most of the band has adjusted to the new time without incident. However, some students are arriving late or not at all for homeroom.
Beginning on Monday, September 29, anyone tardy to formation should expect the following consequences:
Juniors: you will NOT be allowed to serve in a leadership position on that day. You will fall-in in front of the chapel to be inspected. You will receive 2 demerits.
Sophomores: Upon arrival, you will fall-in in front of the chapel to be inspected. You will receive 2 demerits.
Freshmen: Upon arrival, you will fall-in in front of the chapel to be inspected. You will serve band detention THAT day after school with a band officer. At dismissal, report to Ms. W’s office
Missed Formation
Anyone who skips homeroom and signs in at the main office during period 1 must check in for inspection with either Ms. W or a member of the Top Brass (LTC)
Excused tardies/Absences
If you have a late arrival on file with the main office (dentist or doctor's appointment), please text your squad or platoon leader to let them know.
If your bus brings you late, please let the S1 Officer or Ms. Waite know upon your arrival.
Communication
We use the chain of command for all band communication. Please make sure you have your Squad Leader’s cell, as well as your platoon leader’s cell. Juniors should have the number for everyone in their squad. It would be appreciated if you could let someone from your squad know if you will be late or absent.
