Here is a Google Form to complete. Please follow the directions on the form. It has a video for you to watch and then questions to answer. Have fun as you watch and listen but be sure to pay attention because you will only have one chance to submit your answers on the Google Form. Enjoy!
This is a Google Question Form that you can click on and submit your answers after you watch two videos: One is a song and the other is an informational video that will teach you about the Memorial Day Holiday. Watch the two videos first and then answer the questions in the Google Question Form.
Here are the two video links:

Here is the Google Question Form. Click on it to open in a new window and then answer the questions and click submit:
Try to remember what we learned about the music staff this year when we were in music class together. This is a review paper. Think of my music rug in my music classroom and all the stuff we learned using that rug.
This is a chance to learn how to properly draw the Treble G Clef symbol which is found at the beginning of music on the music staff. You will need a printer to do this assignment. You need to first print the blank music staff paper to use to draw your Treble G Clef symbols on. Then click on the direction page and follow the directions drawing your Treble G Clef symbol 3 times on each music staff. Then you will need to take a picture of your completed music paper and email it to mverdich@catskillcsd.org or upload it to your Google Drive and share it to my Catskill Google Drive (mverdich.) Have fun learning to draw the Treble G Cleb symbol.

Don't forget to show me what you remember by drawing a staff with labeled notes after watching the video!
Create your own music using sounds from your backyard. Open the Google Document below and follow the directions in the document.
Here is the link:
3rd Activity Choice - Remember if you choose this activity you don't have to do any others this week in music. Only one activity each week is required :
Be a Drummer. If you like to tap and drum, this performance opportunity is for you. Click on the document "who's a Great Drummer" and follow the directions:
3rd Activity:
Create your own music WITHOUT using any real music instruments. Use items in your house. For example, you can use pots and pans from your kitchen, something from your bedroom, rocks and sticks from outside, etc. Gather all your sounds, decide what order you will play them in, and create your rhythm patterns with your sounds. Practice your performance and then perform it for someone. You can video yourself playing your music and have someone email the video to mverdich@catskillcsd.org. Or, just write down what you are using and the order you are playing each sound and take a picture of that paper and send it to mverdich@catskillcsd.org for me to see what you used in your music. Have fun creating music with items in your house!
First Activity:
Second Activity:
Directions for the worksheet:
(Remember you need to print it first to be able to do the work on the sheet.)
Try to remember the notes we learned and how many beats (the number) each note gets. Then look at the Mine Craft cobblestones and choose the amount of stones that equals the number of beats the note would get. Don't forget to include your name and your homeroom teacher's name on your paper and take a picture and email mverdich@catkillcsd.org if you want me to see your work.
Third Activity:
Here's a listening activity for you to try:
Materials Needed:
1. Drawing paper (any paper will do)
2. Something to draw with such as a pencil, colored pencils, crayons or markers
Directions:
Click on the link below and listen to the music. Draw a picture while you are listening of whatever you are thinking of as you listen. Put your name and your homeroom teacher's name on the picture when you are finished and email it to mverdich@catskillcsd.org so I can see your picture.
Click on this link:
When you finish listening to the story, tell me what you learned about music. Make a list of 3 things the story teaches you about music. Make sure you remember to put your name on your paper, and you can have someone take a picture of your list and email it to me at mverdich@catskillcsd.org
3) Here's an activity for you to try. Create a shaking tambourine instrument.
Directions:
1. Decorate two paper plates.
2. Hold the two paper plates together and tape, glue, or staple all around the edges. (leave a small section open to add what you will use to make the shaking sound.)
3. Add something to the inside of your tambourine to make a shaking sound such as small stones, rice, beans, or beads. Then finish closing the last edge.
4. Now you have a shaking tambourine that you can use to shake different rhythms with.
Have some fun with your tambourine. Create your own shaking rhythm pattern, or shake along to your favorite song. You can have someone make a video of you playing, or take a picture of your tambourine that you created, and send it to my email: mverdich@catskillcsd.org.
