Find an object that looks like a letter
or
Spell out a word with objects
Use materials around your home to build a fort that you can go inside of
or
Turn a cardboard box into a fort
Directions:
Become an architect (an artist who plans and designs buildings) and build your own fort!
Use what you have around you in your home. Think about using furniture and blankets, sleeping bags, or towels. What will you put inside? What about pillows or lights? If you have cardboard boxes, you can turn that into a fort. Can you cut out or draw on a door or windows?
What will you use your fort for? How about reading a book or drawing a picture? What else can you do?
Send me a picture of you inside your fort!
Complete one of the challenges listed by yourself or with siblings
The "Weekly Challenge" will be a choice for the rest of the school year.
Open up the google doc attached with the 7 different challenges. Choose one to complete. If you want to do this each week, there are enough to choose a different one each time. If you have siblings, you can collaborate and work together on the same challenge!
Use whatever materials you have available to you at home. You can draw it, paint it, print it, collage it, or build it. Maybe you have extra cardboard, tape, glue, construction paper, newspapers, yarn, legos, clay.....try out what you have!
(There are 3 choices this week - you only need to do 1)
Create your own chalk paint
Use the paint to create a painting of your choice
Create a collage with pictures from magazines or newspapers
DIRECTIONS:
Find some old magazines or newspapers. Cut out pictures that are interesting to you. Arrange them on a piece of paper and glue them down.
Tell a story with your pictures. You can overlap them, draw on them, or add details around them with a pencil, crayon, or markers. Fill the space of your paper with your pictures. Are the pictures talking-what will they say? What is in the background?
My collage of a birthday party for a puppy!
Create a card game of Memory
(There are 3 choices this week - you only need to do 1)
Create a hand puppet with paper
Draw or paint to music
Watch the video. It puts a painting by the artist Wassily Kandinsky to music. He liked to listen to music when he painted. When he heard sounds, he would see different colors, lines, and shapes. He would paint what he heard in the music.
Directions
Choose your favorite song and listen to it. While you listen, draw or paint to the sounds you hear. If the song is fast - draw fast. If the song is slow - draw slow. If you hear loud sounds, what lines, shapes, or colors would you use to show it? What about soft sounds? Fill the space of your paper.
