Congratulations to the boys varsity track team. Yesterday they traveled all the way out to Dolgeville to compete in the Section Championship and came away victorious! The boys’ score of 143 points was well ahead of second place Cooperstown’s 86. The team was led by a series of impressive performances including individual wins from Brady Aukema in high jump, Xander Schutt in the 400 meters, and Chris Morency in both the long jump and 400 meter hurdles. Lastly, the boys 400 meter relay team of Lucas Dorgan, Micah Muhlnickel, Landon Gillmore, and Xander Schutt closed out the meet with not only a dominating win but smashed the school record which had stood for 30 years, having been set back in 1996.
The girls team had a good showing to finish in third place with Maggie Brown claiming an individual win in the 400 meter hurdles.
Nice weather leads to some great performances at DeRuyter. The boys finished second behind Watertown. Congratulations to Chris Morency breaking the school record in high jump. The record has stood since 1992 and was co-held by Steven Henry, Jeremy Cox, and Joe Cox. Xander Schutt also broke the school record in the 400 meter dash. The previous record was set in 2007 by Sean Peckham.
The girls team came away with the win. Congratulations to the 4x400 meter relay team of Maggie Brown, Camryn Daggett, Victoria Schutt, and Isabella Wilkins. The record has stood since 2024 and was set by Maggie, Camryn, Isabella, and Elaina Williams.
The boys team came away from the OHSL championship meet as League Champions! This is the third straight year they have won the league. The following athletes earned all-league status: 1st Team All-league; Jimmy Wilkinson, Acee Hauswirth, Preston Ladd, Liam Mantell, Lucas Dorgan, Xander Schutt, Chris Morency, Everett Cox, and Owen Garrigan. 2nd Team All-League; Brady Aukema. Extra congratulations to Chris Morency for breaking the school record in the 400meter hurdles. The record was previously set in 2023 by Merritt Cox.
The girls team finished second with a strong showing. The following athletes earned all-league honors: 1st Team all-league; Maggie Brown, Lucy Brown. 2nd Team All-League; Callie Gillis, Grace Bos, Makinsye Wallace, Sa’Ria Jones, Morgan Mansfield. Extra congratulations to Maggie Brown for breaking the school record in the 400meter hurdles. The previous record was set in 2002 by Kate Modafferi.

This past weekend Maggie Brown traveled down to White Plains to compete in the prestigous Loucks Games. She finished 5th place in a very strong field; featuring some of the top athletes from across the northeast US.
The boys team wrapped up another undefeated season with wins over DeRuyter and MPH. Athlete of the meet shoutout to Liam Ae for his excellent triple jump and great 4x100m leg.
The girls team also came away with two wins. They finish the season 10-2. Shoutout to Aubrey Watchorn for qualifying for sectionals.
Congratulations to the boys team. Their 91 to 50 win against Port Byron moved the team to 10-0 on the season and clinched their third straight league title. Extra congratulations to Everett Cox. His performance yesterday moved him atop the career scoring list at Cato-Meridian making him the all-time leader in school history, surpassing his brother Merritt.
The girls team also came away with the win 113 to 26, moving to 8-2 on the season. Shoutout to Dixie McLain-Tindall, scoring her first career point on senior night!
The teams traveled to Chittenango to take on some strong fields. All three boys relays hit the standard for the State Qualifier meet on June as well as the girls 4x400m relay. Three school records were set as well; first was Daryl McLain breaking his own record in the 100m wheelchair, next up was the boys 4x100m relay team of Lucas Dorgan, Miles Muhlnickel, William Brathen, and Xander Schutt, finally Isabella Wilkins set a new mark in the 400m.
The boys and girls track teams hosted 3 schools. The boys team remains undefeated at 8-0. They picked up wins over Pulaski 107 to 33, over Bishop Ludden 122 to 19, and over OnTech 135 to 5.
The girls team moved 6-2 on the season. They came up short against Pulaski 94 to 46, but beat Bishop Ludden 79 to 62 and OnTech 131 to 1.
The teams traveled up to Pulaski. The boys team picked up wins over Pulaski 104 to 37 and over Weedsport 119 to 22. The following boys achieved section qualifying marks: Chris Morency (110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, high jump), Miles Muhlnickel (100m), William Brathen (400m hurdles), Liam Mantell (400m hurdles), Andrew Bonanno (800m), Kagan Dello Stritto (200m, high jump), Eli Krul (pole vault), Owen Garrigan (shot put).
The girls came up short against Pulaski 92 to 45, but beat Weedsport 116 to 24. The following girls achieved section qualifying marks: Lucy Brown (400m hurdles), Aurelia Eckel (shot put). Congratulations to Isabella Wilkins who broke the school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.8 seconds. The previous record was set in 2022 by Chelsea Dennison.
The teams had their first invitational of the season at Westhill. The following boys achieved section qualifying marks: Xander Schutt (100), Landon Gillmore (100, 200), Lucas Conklin (mile), Miles Muhlnickel (200), Chris Morency (long jump). Extra congratulations to Xander Schutt who broke the school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.14 seconds. The previous record was set in 2013 by Nick Treasure.
The following girls achieved section qualifying marks: Callie Gillis (2mile), Sa'Ria Jones (100), Lucy Brown (mile, triple jump), Victoria Schutt (200), Camryn Daggett (200). Extra congratulations to Sa'Ria Jones, Addison Harkness, and Maggie Brown; who broke the school record in the 3x100m shuttle hurdle relay.
The boys and girls track teams both opened their seasons with wins. The boys team picked up wins over Syracuse Academy of Science 116 to 25, over APW 124 to 17, and over Cincinnatus 137 to 3. The following athletes achieved section qualifying marks: William Brathen (hurdles and triple jump), Lucas Dorgan (100 dash), Everett Cox (½ mile, mile, 2 mile, and pole vault), Andrew Bonanno (mile, 2 mile, and pole vault), Xander Schutt (200 and 400), Landon Gillmore (400 and long jump), Liam Mantell (½ mile), Jimmy Wilkinson (2 mile and high jump), Liam Ae (high jump, long jump, and triple jump), Miles Muhlnickel (triple jump), Brady Aukema (high jump), Micah Muhlnickel (discus), and Eli Zappala (discus). Extra congratulations to Lucas Dorgan who broke the school record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.0 seconds. The previous record was set in 2012 by Nick Treasure.
The girls also picked up wins over Syracuse Academy of Science 118 to 23, over APW 122 to 19, and over Cincinnatus 133 to 7. The following athletes achieved section qualifying marks: Maggie Brown (hurdles, ½ mile, and long jump), Addison Harkness (hurdles and pole vault), Sa’Ria Jones (hurdles and 400meter hurdles), Isabella Wilkins (100, 200, and long jump), Peyton Knox (100 and 200), Callie Gillis (½ mile and mile), Victoria Schutt (400, high jump, and triple jump), Camryn Daggett (400 and high jump), Lucy Brown (2 mile and pole vault), Morgan Mansfield (high jump), Bailey Planck (high jump and pole vault), Aurelia Eckel (discus), and Megan Kyle (discus). Extra congratulations to Maggie Brown who broke her own school record in the 100 meter hurdles and to Isabella Wilkins who broke the school record in the 100 meter dash with a time 0f 12.6 seconds. The previous record was set last year by Amber Clarke.
