"As I entered high school, art became my saving grace. I finally felt like I found the place where I was meant to be. It was my own art teacher that made the biggest impact on my life and I am thankful for the opportunity to make that difference for the next generation of learners, makers, and doers.
I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a BFA in Arts Education with a focus on Printmaking and Ceramics. My degree allows me to teach K-12, but I love teaching at the high school level. I have previously taught art to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through UMAR Arts on Main, and have a background in Architectural Drafting and Design.
In my spare time, you can find me in my garden, hiking, hammock camping, slowly becoming an art goblin in my garage studio, or spending time with my husband, Tyler, and 13-year-old stepson, Harland."
