John David Alford

Hi, my name is David Alford. I have just graduated with a Bachelor's in Educational Studies. I have worked as an instructional assistant for 5 years working in all age groups. I have worked with students in a separate setting classroom, along with OCS and Future Ready. I am so excited to get to work with the staff and students at St. Stephens. I have heard a LOT of great things about both the high school and the county.

I am married to my middle school sweetheart, 22 years later and we have 12 very loving pets... yes 12, 3 chihuahuas, a Chiweenie, and 8 cats. Cheaper by the dozen, but we love the full house. When I am not working on orders for my Etsy shop or preparing for Comic-Cons I am trying to live an active life, it is a new habit for me, I had gastric bypass and lost 232 lbs since last June! I am working to keep it all off and be a healthier me!

I have been a judge for the high school swim teams being called upon to work with Hibriten, South Caldwell, and Watauga. I have a passion for swimming and one day hope to coach, but for now, I get to judge.

“I have wanted to be an EC teacher, specializing in Deaf Education since I was in the 6th grade. I earned my BS and partial Masters from the University of Nebraska- Lincoln in 1991 and have utilized my skills in and out of the public education sector. On a personal note, I enjoy physical fitness, gardening, hospitality, and travel within the US and abroad. I have lived in 8 states on all 4 perimeters of the country and have five children with my husband of 26 years who is from Nicaragua. Thank you for making me feel so welcome here at Saint!”
