TXRL Workshop #4
The Instructional Leadership Team as the Engine for Improvement
The purpose of this workshop is to help campus literacy leadership team (and the district leaders who support them):
Strengthen how instructional evidence flows into the Instructional Leadership Team. Bring together evidence from internalization, walkthroughs, coaching, and student outcomes to create a fuller picture of instruction.
Make sense of instructional evidence through rigorous inquiry. Identify recurring patterns, understand what may be driving them, and name instructional challenges with precision.
Match instructional challenges to the right improvement response. Identify the classroom change needed and determine how internalization, coaching, walkthroughs, or professional learning can support it.
Establish a repeatable cycle for collective instructional improvement. Use the SEE → MAKE SENSE → ACT → LOOK AGAIN cycle to improve instruction and determine next steps.
**Note: District leaders attend the workshops in this series alongside campus literacy leadership teams. Their role is not observational. They are present to set context, name the urgency, signal shared accountability for the structures and moves that campus leaders will examine and strengthen throughout the series, and identify where campus leaders need support to do this work effectively.
