Step 1: Explore the Stephenville Case Study - Teacher Insights Section mindset shifts + implementation advice = must-dos, may dos based on interest
Step 2: Reflect - In the first clip in the Teacher Insight section you explored the Stephenville teacher shared her perspective that “blended learning is the missing piece that allows all students to find success.”
At this point in your understanding of what blended learning really is why do you think she feels so strongly about the blended learning practices she is implementing in her classroom? In other words, what is it specifically about the blended learning practices that make them the “missing piece”? Facilitators may create polls to capture responses
As you come in please respond to the following question by entering a response:
As you reflect on what you have learned & explored so far, consider how your thinking has changed. Use the sentence stem - "I used to think… Now I think..." to make your thinking visible. Facilitators may create polls to capture responses

Making Connections | Questions & concepts to consider as you explore
Persona 1 - For those of you who don’t yet feel you have a developed concept of how the general elements of the student experience work - consider the following questions and concepts as you explore:
Zoom in on small group instruction and walk through a mental model of what the teacher does and what the students do during small group instruction.
Consider what students are doing when they are not with the teacher during small group instruction.
Observe how the teacher has prioritized a few, high-quality curriculum/ instructional materials that she leverages throughout the “stations” or “SMART Path Activities.”
Persona 2 - For those of you who feel you have a developed concept of how the general elements of the student experience work - consider the following questions and concepts as you explore:
Notice where students receive grade-level instruction and practice and where opportunities to work on below and above grade level content exist.
Consider which data sources drive personalized practice activities at various “stations.”
Observe how the teacher has prioritized a few, high-quality curriculum/ instructional materials that she leverages throughout the “stations” or “SMART Path Activities.”
Map Elements of the Student Experience + Details [Element + Content + Data - comes together in the structure of the student experience]
Let's build the Stephenville 4th Grade Math Example from the elements of the Student Experience so we can “see” how it fits together

Now let’s use the following questions to “pressure test” the Stephenville student experience example against the Blended Best Bet practices.
These questions are aimed at identifying where the BBBs are in the Student Experience and highlighting areas in which the SE may need to be refined or clarified in alignment to these practices.
