Grant Funds & Data Reporting

Grant Requests & Reporting

Process for annual grant fund requests and reporting requirements.

Grant Requests

Each March, RBL grantees will request a portion of the $300,000 grant award for the upcoming fiscal year using the RBL Grant Request from. Districts will describe how grant dollars are expected to impact program outcomes and explain any variance between funds requested and proposed budget expenditures outlined in RBL business plans. Raise Your Hand Texas and CA Group will review the grant request with each district and agree on the appropriate annual payment.

Grant Reporting

Before September 1st each year, RBL grantees will document how grant dollars were spent during the previous academic year using the RBL Grant Reporting form and note any variance between projected and actual spending. Districts will be asked to include a short budget narrative describing the impact of funding on program outcomes.

Required Surveys & Data Submissions

RBL collects data to share demonstration site learnings.

Surveys

Districts will be asked to administer a series of annual surveys to measure shifts in educators’ perceptions and instructional practices related to blended learning as well as students’ perceptions. Among the surveys required for spring administration include:

  • Perception Survey for teachers, school leaders and district leaders;

  • Classroom Implementation Survey for teachers; and,

  • Student Voice Perception Survey.

Results will be made available to inform continuous improvement of blended learning implementations.

Data Submissions

  • SMART Goals and Reflection: RBL districts and campuses participate in a cycle of goal setting and reflection using the RBL SMART Goal Template. In January and June of each year, district and campus leaders enter data (interim at mid-year), analyze progress and prepare written reflections to describe progress, obstacles and planned adjustments to increase the likelihood of achieving the goals.

  • Scale Tracking: Each spring, RBL districts report the number of teachers and students participating in blended learning classrooms in the RBL Scale Template.

  • RBL Templates: RBL districts are provided templates to help plan, iterate and document blended learning implementations. The templates are explicitly scaffolded, with clear through-lines and connections, so they can be reused and refined throughout design and implementation cycles. Districts will be required to complete and update templates annually or more frequently if significant changes are made to pilot plans.

Funder Meetings

Annual meetings to discuss RBL district progress.

Funder Meetings

Representatives from Raise Your Hand Texas and CA Group will meet with each RBL district once per year to discuss progress toward implementing the Raising Blended Learners Implementation Continuum (RBL-IC) and achieving RBL business plan objectives.
