Six French teachers came to our school for the Erasmus+ project and we decided to interview them to know more about them.
What is your name?
Our names are Benoît Gouraud, Mona Toubache, Saloua El Mansouri, Jerôme Carassou, Omayra Duran and Camille Ardalan.
Where do you live?
We live in Paris.
Where do you work?
We work in Bobigny on the outskirts of Paris.
How many students are there in your school?
In our school, there are 890 students.
What subject do you teach?
We teach English, French and Spanish.
Why did you choose our school?
We chose this school because we saw your situation, your town and the projects you want to do. Also because your town is not like Barcelona, wich is so big and we wanted a small town calmer than Paris.
What subjects have you been taking there?
Cataln with Imma, technology with Lluís, an optional class with Núria Capdevila, French with Alba, a Catalan classe for the new with Judit, Catalan literature with Ariadna. This morning I has a meeting, with Arcadi and Marta, they are in their first year of baccalaurate, the history teacher and the economics teacher, they told us a little about what they do, how, what you do and why you do so many projects in your center.
Do you like dynamics in class?
We think it is very interesting and very different from what we do in France. Also, students are very autonomous unlike our students because we have to tell them everything they have to do. Also, the way you guys work is very interesting.
What do you think about our high school? Is it very different from yours?
The management of the students is different because here they are very independent and do not have to change classes, instead in ours they change every hour of class. You know what to do when you get to class and the chedules are very different to.
What do you like about Paris?
Most teachers like Paris, but there is one person who doesn't like Paris, she lives there for work. They like Paris because there are many museums, many monuments, many theaters, you can do many things and everything is next door, and that is very romantic. They like to walk all over Paris. For a teacher it is very important to have an airport to travel.
What do you recommend us to visit there?
Young Europeans have free access to most national monuments until 2025. In other monuments such as the Eiffel Tower and if you want to climb 12 or 14 euros. Also paying, the Arc de Triomphe. You can go to the concierge next to the Fountain Saint-Michel and visit small monuments. In Paris, there are so many things to do. You can also go to the Palace of Versailles wich is very nice. Finally, you can go to the center of Paris by River Seine and see the Eiffel Tower at night.
What languages do you speak?
French teachers can speak: English, French, Arabic, some Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese and Italian.
Have you visited Brittany?
Yes, she is magnificent and we adore her. It is a beautiful region. It's a bit like Catalonia. There are very important monuments. The French will hike in Brittany. The only problem is the weather, it rains often. In addition, the sea and food are magnificent. We like that.
What do you recommend us to visit there?
We recommend you visit the coast wich is very beautiful and stroll through the city. Also visit the beach and admire the magnificent views.
