Breton music is classified into two large families
Traditional music is played with the biniù and the bombarde. In 1950 there was a relaunch of the traditional music of French Brittany, from dels bagadoubli (name given to French orchestras).
Current music is inspired by Celtic music and is very different from others. Alan Stivell was the founder of this initiative and many other groups followed.
Languages:
The official language of Brittany is French, spoken by 3,329,000 people in 2019 (latest record). They also have Breton, as a Celtic language spoken mainly in western Brittany. In 2018 (last record), 207,000 people used this language. Gallo is also a Romance language used in Brittany and the Pays de la Loire, spoken by 28,000 people.
Architecture:
Brittany has a rich built heritage, from typical fishermen's houses to fabulous castles, as well as some very interesting villages. There are also a large number of churches and cathedrals as it has marked an important religious heritage. They are usually built of granite, including the bell tower, while roofs are preferred slate.
