Science Week 2020
Science Week Videos
Video 1: How Clouds Make Rain
This video is the first of our science week video series. On the last week of school each year, CAI elementary library students experience what we call "science week." This year, science week will be conducted through videos. This first video is about how clouds make rain featuring a literature tie in with the book Miss Maple's Seeds. Check back tomorrow for our next video and experiment. Enjoy!
Video 2: What is chromatography?
Join us for our second video of our science week series where we discuss colors and chromatography, which ties into the book The Day the Crayons Quit. Check out how you can use items around your house to see what colors were used to make the color of ink in your markers. Also, don't forget to tune in again tomorrow for another science week video!
Video 3: Dancing Rice
Unfortunately, we experienced some technical difficulties recording our video for today. I was able to find a video on YouTube created by another teacher doing the same experiment that I had planned on doing for you today. I hope you enjoy it. Be sure to check back tomorrow for another science week video!
Video 4: Make Your Own Lava Lamp
Watch how you can make your own lava lamp at home using a few simple items (no heat needed). On this video, I am joined by my youngest daughter as our special guest. Check back tomorrow for our last science week video of 2020.
Video 5: Dissolving Egg Shells
Join me in the barn for our last science week video of 2020. We will see what happens when you put a chicken egg in vinegar and let it sit for 2 days. I am joined by my special guest, Carmella the chicken. Hope you enjoy this video and have a great summer break!
