Our goal is to create a joyful and enriching learning experience that prepares your child for Kindergarten while honoring their unique interests and abilities.
Math Standards Pre-K ELA Standards
In Pre-K, the math curriculum focuses on building a strong foundation through hands-on, play-based learning. Children develop counting skills by counting aloud to 20, recognizing numerals, and comparing sets of objects. Basic concepts of addition and subtraction are introduced using manipulatives, while pattern recognition and simple measurement help them understand relationships like size, length, and weight. Students explore geometry by identifying shapes, using positional words like "next to" or "above," and distinguishing between two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes. Through interactive activities, they learn to sort, classify, and describe objects, fostering a positive attitude toward math and preparing them for Kindergarten.
In Pre-K, the English Language Arts curriculum focuses on developing early literacy skills through engaging, play-based activities. Children learn to recognize and name letters, understand letter sounds, and develop a love for reading through listening to stories and discussing characters and events. They build vocabulary, practice using new words, and start recognizing high-frequency sight words. Students also begin to express their thoughts through drawing, dictating, and writing simple words or phrases. Speaking and listening skills are strengthened as children engage in conversations, take turns speaking, and ask questions, setting a strong foundation for reading and writing in Kindergarten.
