About the Facilitator
Ellison Kirby serves as a Behavioral Care Program Therapist in Prisma Health’s Adolescent Recovery Center. Ellison provides direct clinical therapy services to high acuity adolescents and their families struggling with suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, substance use, and traumatic-stress and abandonment symptomology. She uses a trauma-focused perspective to generate developmentally appropriate, therapeutic solutions to minimize the impact of adverse childhood experiences.
Ellison graduated from the University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Social Work. She earned her Master of Social Work from Winthrop University in May 2016 and became a Licensed Master of Social Work. Through professional and volunteer roles, Ellison has over 10 years of experience and extensive training in working with survivors of trauma and their loved ones, as well as individuals, groups, and communities impacted by trauma.
