Yearbook Extract 2020:

"Despite major events like Stations of the Cross and the KBB festival competition being cancelled due to Covid-19, the Carmel College Orchestra have kept themselves busy throughout the year. The Orchestra rehearses on Friday mornings and have primarily been working on the pieces ‘I Dreamed a Dream’ and ‘Hungarian March’ this year, among others.

Even during the lockdown, the Orchestra has diligently continued to rehearse online together through Zoom which has been a new and most interesting experience. Additionally, the Orchestra submitted a video to create a fun background for the KBB music festival and organised a ‘Guess the Musician and Instrument Challenge’ to connect with each other via the online platform. In October, the Orchestra performed in the annual Music Showcase Night. For Senior Prizegiving, the Orchestra collaborated with the Senior Choir, performing “Sing” by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Gary Barlow. The Orchestra would like to express their gratitude to Mrs Brockelbank, their conductor, and Mr Child, the HOD, for their guidance and support over this year of change."
