Level 1: Identifies all notes in the staff in the clef of their instrument.

Level 2: Identifies all notes in the staff, and ledger lines above and below the staff (incl. the range of their instrument). Identifies Accidentals.

Level 3: Identifies the notes in the staff of both Treble & Bass Clef (incl. lines & spaces of the staff). Identifies the notes of a piano keyboard, and the Grand Staff.

Level 4: Fluently and with some speed identifies Treble Clef & Bass Clef notes on and off of the staff, and can locate them on a piano keyboard.

Level 5: Can easily transpose a musical excerpt from one clef to another, in the correct octave (based upon prior knowledge of the Grand Staff and middle C). Can Sight Read and play a simple melodic passage in Bass or Treble clef (on piano).
