Level 1: When looking at a simple 4-part harmony, identifies the tonality (key) of the piece, and its chord qualities.
Level 2: When looking at a simple 4-part harmony, identifies the function of the harmonic progression and can notate it in Figured Bass.
Level 3: When looking at a simple harmonic progression, identifies the types of cadences used (incl. Perfect Authentic, Plagal, Half, and Deceptive Cadences).
Level 4: Can transpose a simple 4-part harmony into any key, and will check work by analyzing it harmonically in both keys (as outlined in Levels 1-3).
Level 5: Can construct a simple 4-part harmony following the rules of voice leading and pre-set guidelines, and can then fully analyze their composition.
