Case Study 3

Where do bears live around the world?

Where do Bears live around the world?

During this case study we will be looking at three different questions. The children will look closely at each question and through continuous provision explore the different types of bears. They will really think about where bears live and how they differ from country to country.

Are all bears the same?

How do we care for bears?

Are all Bears the same?

The children looked closely at Brown Bears and Polar Bears. In nursery we found that Polar Bears had white fur and Brown Bears had brown. Brown Bears lived in forrests and Polar Bears lived in cold places. We used brown pasta to create the Brown Bears fur and cotton wool to create a Polar Bear. We carefully cut out ears and eyes for each of our Bears.

We found Brown bears liked to eat insects and fish, where as Polar Bears liked to eat meat.
