PRO Version costs $4.99. You can find this app on iTunes or Google Play.

"You can store up to 3 worksheets with the free version and some functions don't work with the free version. Commonsense Media does a good review of this product if you'd like to check it out. UATT also has the free version on our iPad so you play around with it and decide if you want to bother downloading it or not.

(KAMI does on the Chromebook, all of the things that SnapType does on a device. With KAMI, you do need an additional step of providing the document to the student either with a scanner app on your phone, or making sure the student can access the document/pdf through Google Classroom.)

Handwriting/Letter Formation Apps

Most of these are for early handwriting practice, but some may be useful for struggling writers at any age. These all have a CURSIVE option as well, but you have to buy letters and cursive as separate apps. Most of these were found using an iPad. I'm sure there are lots of options available on Google Play as well. I do not have access to an android device to test them out so haven't recommend the Android only options.

Vision Apps

GLASSES Digital Magnifier and Mirror (iOS only, Free offers In-App purchases) This really isn't too much different than just pulling up your camera and pinch zooming in on an object, but it might be a smidge better. The app offers a larger viewing area and automatically turns on the flashlight as well to brighten the object.

Scanner Apps

There are lots of scanner apps out there. Here are a couple of the best.

Drive for Android (FREE for android)

Scan all your paper documents with Drive for Android. Just snap a photo of documents like receipts, letters and statements – and Drive will store them instantly as PDFs.

It has a really good Optical Code Recognition mode that lets you convert pdf documents you scan into a readable and thus text-searchable format and TTS (Text to Speech) options. If you don't want the OCR, there are other free scanner apps available.
