Every year more than 100 college admissions representatives visit Cape Elizabeth High School. The purpose of these visits is to provide you with information about the college and answer any specific questions you may have. These are NOT interviews and are completely informational however some colleges do count your attendance as "demonstrated interest" in their school.
Why should I sign up for a rep visit?
This is your opportunity to learn more about a college that you may not be able to visit or that you've never heard of before.
The admissions rep who visits CEHS will likely be the person who reads your application. This is your chance to make a great impression, ask a specific question or share some information about yourself. While these are typically group meetings, you may have the opportunity for some one-on-one conversation as well.
Many colleges track "demonstrated interest". What this means is that they keep track of your contact with the college and utilize this information when making an admissions decision. Demonstrated interest can take many forms (emails to admissions reps, campus visits, interviews, etc..) but high school rep visits are the easiest way to show a college that you're serious about them. For this reason I would strongly encourage you to sign up to meet with the rep for every college you are applying to. Even if you have visited the school already and think you know everything you need to know, take a moment to introduce yourself and make a great impression!
