Leman Middle School's CAPE Program

About Us

Founded in 1992, CAPE inspires students to be passionate about their education by weaving visual and performing arts into their classroom lessons. To bring their academic subjects to life through art, we partner teaching artists with District 33 teachers, parents and staff to develop original, creative lesson plans.

Leman Middle School and CAPE started their partnership in Spring 2021 with Zoom arts classes. CAPE is currently providing afterschool programs at five D33 schools: Currier, Gary, Leman, Pioneer, Turner.  Students have the opportunity to participate in programs up to 4 days a week for 28 weeks of the school year as well as for 5 weeks over the summer.  These programs are provided free of charge for students and are supported by funding from the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program of the Illinois State Board of Education.
