Hey Band Families

The bands spent this last week putting some finishing touches on the pieces that we will be playing for the upcoming 8th-grade promotion. Beginning band has been hard at work learning Pomp and Circumstance, and Advanced band Has been putting together The Masque of the Red Death. 

Band Olympics

The band Olympics are also in full swing, with the final event taking place on Monday. The current standing in the  Advanced band is Trumpets in first place, a two-way tie for second between Low Brass and Percussion, and Clarinets in a close third. In the Beginning band, Low Brass is in first place, followed by percussion and Saxophones in 2nd and 3rd place. 

Upcoming Events and Reminders:

June 12th 8th grade promotion: All 91 band students will perform at the 8th grade promotion. 6th and 7th grade students will play Pomp and Circumstance while the students enter the gym. During the ceremony, the 8th-grade band students will join the 7th-grade band members to play the Masque of the Red Death.  

Students will report at 5:30 in concert attire. 

June 13th all school equipment is due back: All rented instruments and equipment should be returned to Mr. Ramirez by the 13th.
