The Community Project is a requirement of CIST service expectations as laid out in the Service as Action Handbook .
The aim of this project is to identify a NEED within a COMMUNITY, and to finds ways in which to address this need in a sustainable manner.
You can choose to work on the community project individually or in groups of two to three. You will be given time to work together during school; however, some work will need to be completed outside of school hours. You are expected to spend about 15 hours on the project, which should be evidenced by your process journal entries.
"The Community Project is your chance to grow as a learner by engaging in a Service Learning experience of your choice."
