In order to provide a FREE summer camp and year-round support for our camper families, our chapter needs to raise $200,000 each year. This number may sound daunting, but it is only possible with the efforts of this entire community and your support! Here at Camp Kesem Berkeley, we strive to make fundraising as fun, equitable, and creative as possible. We are always looking to raise more money for the kids, so if you have any ideas or areas for improvement, please email us at berkeley.development@campkesem.org.
We are stoked to have your support, and cannot wait for this year with you!

Classy is an online fundraising platform run by Salesforce. Each student volunteer is required to have a personal fundraising page, aka your "Classy page." Your Classy page has its own link and will allow you to collect donations throughout the year and during specific fundraising campaigns, such as Giving Tuesday. On it, you can set a goal for the year that feels comfortable for you.
Learn how to set up your personal Classy fundraising page by following along on this presentation.

SAMPLE STORY FOR NEW & RETURNING MEMBERS:
Dear friends and family,
I recently joined an organization called Kesem Berkeley at school, and I am excited to get more involved // it has already proved so meaningful to me! // I am so grateful to be a part of Kesem Berkeley at school! This organization is so meaningful to me and other community members who have been touched by its magic. Kesem is a nationwide community that supports children through and beyond their parent's cancer. As a volunteer, I get to help Kesem provide free year-round support and a week-long summer camp to this often overlooked population.
This past year, I had the incredible opportunity of volunteering [for Kesem // as a counselor for Kesem at Home, a virtual camp experience put on by our organization]. My expectations for online programming were far exceeded the moment I had the privilege of interacting with the brave, inspiring, witty, and hilarious [__-year-old] campers [during our year-round events // of ___ unit]. Whether we were playing games or sharing stories, I was consistently overwhelmed with joy while spending time with the campers in our community. I know now more than ever how special the Kesem community is and how much it means to my campers and me.

There are over 5 million children who have been impacted by a parent’s cancer. Kesem strives to support all of these kids, and each one of them experiences their parent’s cancer journey uniquely. We aim to provide a supportive community, where these kids feel safe, loved, and respected. Cancer imposes a huge burden on these kids’ lives, often forcing them to grow up faster and take on more responsibilities at home. By providing a year-round support and a free summer camp for children ages 6-18, we give these kids an opportunity to feel like kids again.
Since our programming is completely free for our families, we rely on support from our valued friends and family in order to make Kesem possible. Please consider helping me reach my personal fundraising goal of $___. Any support is greatly appreciated, whether that be a donation or spreading the word about Kesem.
Any donation will not only help serve children this year, but it will also create lifelong impact for every child involved in Kesem. Thank you for taking the time to read about this special organization and supporting my efforts!
With love and gratitude,
First “Kesem” Last
