- Be sure sander is off before plugging it in.
- Be sure to check your sanders grade or grit before sanding your project.
- Always start with a rougher grit and then move to a finer grit. 80, 120 & 220
- Use a clamp/vise or a non-slip mat when using the finish sander.
- Never use a finish sander on the edges of your boards. It ruins the pad of the sander and it could round your edges of your project.
- Never force a sander by pushing down too hard. The weight of the tool should provide adequate pressure on the workpiece. Forcing can cause overheating, kickback, stalling or burning. Worse, you could injure yourself.
- Make sure when sanding the surface that you go with the grain.
- Do not lay the sander down while the sander is still moving.
- Do not sand in any one place for too long. The sander’s rapid action may remove too much material and make the surface uneven.
- Keep fingers away form the moving belt or disk.
- As with all power equipment, do not leave the machine running. Ensure that the machine has come to a complete stop before setting the machine down.
