Save as a PDF file. Choose File>> Save As>> Select the Save As Type drop down and select Adobe Portable Document File (*.PDF). Then name it, In this example it is Blocks.
Open up File Explorer (In task bar, we used it on 1st day of class to create folders), now navigate to your CAD Folder, where you saved the Blocks file.
Open up your Google Drive in the web browser.
Create a folder in your Google Drive and name it Exploring Technology. Be sure that the folder is shared with your instructor!
Drag the pdf file (Blocks.pdf) from File Explorer into your Google Drive Folder.
Open your Google Sites Portfolio in your web browser.
Navigate to Exploring Technology page in your portfolio.
Under the Solidworks Drawing Basics section. Click on the Plus of the place holder for the 2D Drawing pdf, choose From Drive and navigate to your Exploring Technology folder. Insert the Blocks.pdf file.
Now we will Share a link to the Blocks pdf in Google Drive. Navigate to your file, in your Exploring Technology folder, if needed. You should already be there.
Right Click on the Blocks file and choose Share, then click on the Copy Link. This copies the link from dialog box, then click Done.
Re-open your Google Sites Portfolio in your web browser.
Under the Solidworks Drawing Basics section. Highlight the words Blocks Drawing File.
In the floating tool bar click on the Insert Link icon. Now paste the link in by pressing Ctrl + V or right click and choose Paste.
Choose Apply, to close the dialog box. You have now created a link to your file, that can be downloaded and opened in Solidworks for others to review.
