In Blender 4.2 LTS, Blender has updated the for a new and improved Eevee rendering! Yay! These new settings are slightly different from the previously recorded video however.
Follow these two simple steps for the new methods of doing ambient occlusion and bloom within Eevee ⬇️
In the Render Properties (camera icon)
Turn on “Raytraciing”
Disable “Denoising” under the “Raytracing” tab.
Although this is not technically “ambient occlusion”, it is the new method to get contact shadows with in Eevee and looks much better!
In the Render Properties (camera icon)
Set the “Samples” up to 512
Note, this may be very slow for slower computers, its best to only bump this setting up when you need it, then lower it when you don’t.
Switch to the “Compositing Tab”⬆️
Select “Use Nodes” at the top ⬆️
