2018 National Multi-Tiered System of Support Professional Learning Institute, “All Means All”

Join us in this action-packed conference to learn about the latest research-based practices to scale up your multi-tiered system of support. We will focus on how to integrate academic, behavioral and social-emotional supports to meet the needs of the whole child. Along with internationally acclaimed speakers, this institute will feature specially designed strands of professional learning to support your stage of MTSS implementation — and your role in this critical work. In addition, participants will hear how school districts from throughout the nation and state are building effective MTSS frameworks and using data to improve student outcomes.

Arts Education: 4th Annual Creativity at the Core Summer Institute!

The Visual and Performing Arts are trending in California! Arts Educators and stakeholders are invited to join us in San Diego on July 25, 26, and 27, 2018, at the San Diego County Office of education for an exciting 3-day institute that will focus on arts learning and California State Standards. Hear from educational leaders, teaching artists, arts specialists, and inspirational speakers from across the state as they provide hands-on learning opportunities focused on a suite of CCSESA's new professional learning modules developed by County Offices of Education and Arts Partner Organization Leaders. Opportunities to Participate

2018 Science Instructional Materials Adoption

The CDE will host deliberations for the 2018 Science Instructional Materials Adoption on July 16–July 20, 2018, at the Doubletree Hotel in Sacramento. Attend a Visual and Performing Arts Curriculum Framework Focus Group Meeting

The CDE is revising the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Framework to incorporate and support the VAPA Standards, which are currently under revision. VAPA educators holding a certified California credential from across the state have been selected to participate in the focus group conversations. Input gathered from these conversations will inform the content and guidance of the VAPA Framework.

The four VAPA Curriculum Framework Focus Group meetings are listed below. All meetings are open to the public.

August 16, 2018 – San Diego County Office of Education (4–6 p.m.)

August 22, 2018 – Santa Clara County Office of Education (4–6 p.m.)

August 30, 2018 – California Department of Education (4–6 p.m.) and via video conference at the Humboldt and Tulare County Offices of Education

September 12, 2018 – Los Angeles County Office of Education (4–6 p.m.)

The CDE is revising the World Languages (WL) Framework to incorporate and support the 2019 WL Standards, which are currently under revision. WL educators holding a certified California credential from across the state have been selected to participate in the focus group conversations. Supplemental Instructional Resources for All Subjects

Have you been looking for supplemental resources for your classroom? Instructional materials used in California public schools must comply with Education Code sections 60040–60045 and 60048 as well as the SBE guidelines in Standards for Evaluating Instructional Materials for Social Content, 2013 Edition (DOC). The CDE maintains a searchable database of supplemental resources. Although these instructional materials are not adopted by the SBE, they have met the social content standards.
