Principal
Cherisse Kaelin
I have been in education for over 20 years starting my career off as a substitute Instructional Aide. I earned my Multiple Subject Credential and Masters in Education in 2005. I taught 10 years in a public school teaching Kindergarten, 1st grade, and 5th grade. In 2018, I started teaching at CAVA. Since then, I taught 5th grade, became a Regional Lead in 5th grade, trained new teachers, and now I get to serve as an 8th Grade Principal. Outside of work, I spend my time with my wonderful husband and 4 beautiful children. We love to go to the beach, mountains, cook, bake, and take walks. I am excited to help serve our families and students this school year.

Marivi ortega
The 2024-25 SY will be my 7th year with CAVA. For six years, I taught 8th grade at CAVA and became an administrator in December 2023. My history with CAVA began in 2008 as a CAVA parent/LC for four years as well as a Community Day childcare employee. I have been teaching and tutoring since 2010 and taught at the Irvine Unified School District for six years. On the personal side, I live with my husband and son in Irvine, CA. I am an avid reader, foodie, world traveler, and recreational cyclist.
Stacy Werner
I knew from a very early age that I wanted to positively impact the lives of children and what better way than to become a teacher. I have been working with children for over 30 years and in the field of education for almost 25 years. I joined CAVA in 2006 and instantly fell in love with the students, staff, curriculum and environment. I continue to enjoy my leadership role in CAVA where I get to work closely with teachers, students and families. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, the outdoors and spending time with my family…our first grandson was born in October!
