The first CCS Classroom Innovation & Technology Showcase was held on July 16 and 17, 2019. Caldwell County Education Foundation and Google were sponsors for this inaugural event. Over 150 teachers and administrators participated in over 35 sessions.
Canvas Basics for Beginners

This session will focus on the basics of using the Canvas Learning Management System for online learning. Participants will learn about how courses can be structured in Canvas, effective online learning pedagogy, and effective course design. Participants will have an opportunity to create a sandbox course for practice with Canvas tools and course design. Audience: PK-12 Level: Beginner
Google and Clever in the Classroom

We will be demonstrating how to use Clever and Google in the classroom. We will help with set up, answer questions and help create lessons using these two formats. Audience: PK-8 Level: Intermediate

Lock Boxes/Digital Breakouts

Games can be created to support classroom content, to build critical thinking or to add an element of challenging fun to any classroom. Mobile Photos- Every Picture Tells a Story
In this session we learn professional photography tips in order to maximize the use of that digital camera in your pocket- your mobile phone. These tips for photo taking and editing are also great for tablets as well. Want to democratize your yearbook or social media with your students, or just want to make sure your personal photos are taken well and taken care of in the cloud? No matter what your motive, you will leave this hands on session with the tools to create amazing and inspiring photos for the world to see. Problem-based learning & the design-thinking process smashed into a gamified experience! Smashboard Edu is a gamified learning process that leads learners through the design-thinking process, involves app-smashing, collaborative goal-setting, and iteration. The main objective is to create a unique product that solves a relevant, real-world problem.
